Private Pilot

This could very well be the last time you’re forced to take your shoes off in a public airport terminal.

Anyone 17 years or older can obtain a private pilot’s license, opening the door to pilot a single engine piston aircraft in good weather anywhere in the United States. A private pilot’s certificate also is the foundation and minimum requirement for adding ratings and advanced certificates.

Private pilot training involves two components – flight training and ground school, which is completed in our classroom and state-of-the-art flight simulator. The FAA requires 40 hours of flight training time to earn a private pilot certificate, including 20 hours with a qualified flight instructor.

You can do all of that and earn your private pilot’s license at High Flight Academy in as little as 30 days. However, many aspiring pilots have busy lives and choose to spread the courses over a number of months or even years. At High Flight Academy, we appreciate that your time is valuable and we will work to accommodate your unique scheduling challenges.
