Like most people my age, I was not sure what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. Deciding something of that magnitude is a challenging task to present to anyone right out of high school. I am incredibly lucky to have my family in my corner to help guide me on my path, especially my grandfather. He first introduced me to the joys of flying exceedingly early in my life. As I sat in a car seat in the back of his Mooney M20J, I had no idea how much of an impact that would have later. He inspired me to first start my dream to one day become an airline pilot. Without him, my aviation dreams would be just that, dreams. He inspired me and I am incredibly grateful for all that he has done to help me reach my goals. The first flight I flew was with a now airline pilot, named Massimo Ruzza. He showed me how cool being a pilot really was. When I started at High Flight Academy, they were truly kind and welcomed me with open arms. Even on my first flight with my instructor Ken Warrender, I knew I had a lot to learn and a long road ahead of me. With the help I received from everyone at High Flight, it made the challenge seem less daunting. Having a wide variety of airplanes and learning materials was just a bonus to the incredible instruction I received from both High Flight and my classes from CCBC. My professor, Bob Stanford, has been an incredible help. Mixing humor with the complex topics that he covers. I am looking forward to learning and growing as a pilot, and to my future in aviation.
Above: I’m one step closer to my aviation dreams.
